James A. Stubenberg is a founding partner of Stubenberg & Durrett. He has extensive experience in the areas of financial services, real estate development and construction, commercial transactions and land use entitlements as well as real estate related litigation.
He has represented leading financial institutions, developers and other commercial entities in Hawaii, the U.S. mainland and the Asia‑Pacific Rim in connection with major retail, industrial, residential and resort projects in Hawaii. A significant portion of his practice involves working closely with mainland counsel to further the interest of their clients in Hawaii related matters.
Mr. Stubenberg is one of the co‑founders of Globalaw, an international network of law firms. Globalaw presently consists of 75 affiliated law firms in 50 different countries with over 5,000 lawyers.
In addition, he is a trustee and Executive Director of the Gromet Foundation, one of the largest providers of college scholarships in the State. He has also served as a court appointed arbitrator since the inception of the Circuit Court arbitration program in 1985 and has sat on national committees of the American Bar Association. He has also served as an expert witness in cases relating to real estate transactions. |
